Also known as paella rice, this type of short and rounded rice is especially selected from varieties such as bahia and senia which originate in Valencia. It is only the best selected grains that can offer the best paella and rice dishes. This type of grain has the characteristic of absorbing more than other types of rice, the flavours of the stock in which it is cooked, making it the ideal type of rice for cooking the perfect paella.

This peculiarity allows you to save the starch, so it always comes loose, without caking, making it the king rice for perfect paella or risotto style dishes.

Our paella rice is carefully prepared by Hijos de Vicente Catala Peiro, a family business located in Valencia and one of the oldest companies in its sector. The company’s beginnings were in the late 19th century, and its current owners represent the fifth generation to run the business. Its main feature is the great care and attention they take when preparing paella rice, whilst achieving maximum quality in all their products, backed by many years of experience.
