Our Sliced Somalo Chorizo Vela Picante is a delicious slicing sausage made in La Rioja with a smoky, garlicky flavour. Somalo Chorizo Vela is made using thick cuts of pork, creating a leaner, meaty sausage that has become a Basco favourite.
This tasty slicing chorizo is made by Martinez Somalo, a family business producing Spanish charcuterie since 1900. Our chorizo vela is infused with aromatic Pimenton de la Vera, a unique smoked paprika only made in one valley in western Spain. It lends a distinctly rich smoky flavour and a lush red colour.
Somalo Chorizo Vela Picante is a versatile ingredient ideal for slicing and serving on sandwiches and meat boards. This chorizo is fully cured and ready to eat with no cooking necessary. No refrigeration is required.
