A signature is required from you when your spanish food order is delivered. Orders will only be delivered to the address you have stated when placing your order. Basco cannot be held responsible for any inaccurate addresses provided to us or for giving your authorisation for goods to be left in a safe place with our courier.

In very rare circumstances we may not be able to fulfil your order. Should we experience any problems with the availability of your order, we will let you know as soon as possible. Whilst we will use all reasonable endeavours to meet the timescales of your spanish food delivery option we may sometimes experience delays because of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control and we therefore cannot accept any liability for any delays or non-delivery.

We will not deliver to forwarding addresses or Post Office boxes due to the risk of fraud. This is for the protection of all our customers.

SMS/EMAIL
Delivery Notification

Our courier service operates a notification text message or e-mail service for all delivery of spanish food and drink orders. This is designed to provide visibility, flexibility and choice. Recipients can now plan their day around our 1 hour delivery window and benefit from a free text message or email when our driver is just 1 stop away.

All we require is a mobile telephone number or e-mail address when you place your order with Basco. Our courier service will then send you a notification text message or e-mail the night before the delivery, which enables the recipient to rearrange for a more convenient day if required (PLEASE NOTE this is not applicable to chilled or frozen product orders) and follow this on the morning of despatch with an ETA text message or e-mail containing the one hour delivery window for their consignment. Recipients can then choose to receive a “You’re Next” text when our driver is 5-15 minutes away.

Missed Delivery

Our chosen carrier will leave a card explaining they have attempted to deliver your goods.

The card will show the contact telephone number for the nearest local delivery depot and the tracking number for the goods. You will need to contact our chose carrier’s local depot to arrange a re-delivery of your goods.

You may choose an alternative working day and this delivery will still be free of charge. You can also collect your order from the carrier's depot or select another working day. You will need to contact the carrier to arrange this. Both collections from the depot and alternative working day delivery date are free of charge. In certain circumstances the courier may leave your parcel with a neighbour if a signature has been obtained.

Your parcel will be returned to us if you have not contacted us within 5 days of the 1st attempted delivery. We can’t refund or replace items when our couriers have attempted delivery and there is no signature.

Delivery of Chilled & Frozen Products

Our packaging is especially designed to keep your product in perfect condition for up to 72 hours. All chilled foods are sent in Polystyrene (EPS) Boxes to insulate and maintain the temperature whilst on transit.

We also use Thermafreeze ice pads within the polystyrene boxes to maintain all foods at the correct temperature. Frozen foods will be kept at temperature for at least 48 hours and chilled foods will be kept at temperature for 72 hours during transit.

On opening the package customers should take care that the product remains cold and that the ice pad sheets remain at least partially frozen. If the product is no longer chilled, or the ice pad sheets are totally defrosted the product should not be consumed. If this should happen please contact us immediately.

We appreciate that buying food over the internet might seem strange, so at Grey’s we go to extra lengths to provide you with as much product information as possible. You'll find close-up photos and extended descriptions of our products as well as all the relevant specifications, like ingredients, allergens, directions for use and storage.

Please Note

We can only deliver chilled and frozen products to destinations where a next-day service is available. Unfortunately that means UK Mainland only and excludes certain areas of northern Scotland where only a 2-day service is available (please check with us if in doubt).

You must be available to take delivery on the first attempt. Although we will instruct the courier to leave the package with a neighbour or in a safe place if possible, we cannot guarantee that this will happen and cannot take responsibility for spoiled goods where you have not been in to accept delivery.

Frozen goods that are not delivered have to be thrown away. If you detect any damage or leakage, please still accept the box then inspect the contents and contact us if necessary. A small amount of liquid formation is normal as the ice begins to thaw. If there is genuine damage, we will not ignore your claim just because you did not reject the delivery.

For collection, please allow 1 working day from the day of order for your goods to be ready. We will email you to let you know when it is ready for collection. Please DO NOT come to our warehouse to collect your order until you have received an email from us informing you it is ready for collection. During public holidays, these periods may vary slightly. Please bring a print out of your notification email when you collect your order. Please note you can return your order to our warehouse, please ensure that you bring along your despatch note with your goods.

Data Protection and Security Information

To process your order, we will require your name, e-mail address and delivery address. Without this information we are unable to process your request or notify you of acceptance of your order. A telephone number is also required so that we can contact you if there is a problem with your order. Unless you advise us otherwise, we may pass your contact information to our couriers or other agents in case they need to contact you to arrange the processing or delivery of your order. When you register with us you can choose whether or not you would like to be sent notification of special orders, promotions and other correspondence from us via your email.

Our site uses secure server software to protect your information whenever you place an order or access your account information. Our software encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us to minimise the risk of this being intercepted before it is received by us. We follow a strict security procedure as required under UK Data Protection Legislation (the Data Protection Act 1998) to protect the information that we store about you from unauthorised access.

Access to customer account information is limited solely to those who need access for the performance of their job. We use full login and password controls on our sales control system. Confidentiality and database access controls are reviewed periodically and updates as required to further protect your personal data.

Credit Card and Security

If you are going to buy spanish food online from Basco, your data is safe. All your personal details are transmitted over a secure, encrypted connection through our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software by GlobalSign, which encrypts the information that you input. When you place an order, your credit card numbers are not stored; neither do we allow you to store this number in your account for safety reasons. All credit card payments are processed by WorldPay, the world's leading credit card payment processor. For extra added security, WorldPay’s payment gateway uses the 3D Secure scheme through Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode to process all payments.
