Serrano ham is Spain’s most enjoyed food, sliced thin and served with bread, or used in classic recipes. Boneless Jamon Serrano is perfect for slicing with little waste, and great for storing for later use. Martinez Somalo is a family company from La Rioja that was founded in 1900. Over this long history they have perfected their craft, creating a top quality Serrano ham with balanced curing and excellent marbling.

Jamon Serrano literally means mountain ham and Martinez Somalo is a member of the “Consorcium of Jamon Serrano” which guarantees the quality of each ham. Sold off the bone, nothing is wasted. All our serrano hams have an ETG accreditation for Guaranteed Traditional Speciality. The pigs are all 100% Spanish and are selected for their quality. The curing process begins and takes 14 months where all the hams are cured under the careful oversight of the Martinez Somalo ham master. This means that each jamon is cured long enough for a consistent, firm and full flavoured ham.

You can slice your Martinez Somalo boneless serrano ham in a meat slicer. We recommend you slice it well chilled for consistent results. You can also cut your ham into four pieces and vac pac each piece to ensure you seal all of its freshness, opening and using one piece at a time. Remember to always store your boneless ham in the refrigerator. 12 month shelf-life, once opened consume within 30 days. No cooking required.

Martínez Somalo is a family business founded in 1901 by Don José Martínez Campo. Under the management of D. Lino Martínez Uruñuela, the corporation built modern facilities equipped with the latest technology and divided into two different production centers. The traditional one dedicated to the production of Chorizo, and the modern one focused in drying of Serrano Ham.

Currently, the firm is led by the 4th generation of the family, and qualified professionals from the meat sector. Both our plants are located in Baños de Río Tobía (La Rioja) –typical Spanish wine region. We are certified with the prestigious regulations BRC “British Retail Consortium” and IFS (International Food Standard).
