GRAPE VARIETIES
45% Macabeo, 20% Xarel·lo and 35% Parellada from very old vines in the Penedes region.
TASTING NOTES
Kripta has a straw colour with golden hues. It is slow-evolving, fine with persistent bubbles. Clean and bright. Sweet aroma with creamy notes of ripe fruit and vanilla; slightly toasted with a balmy smoked background and good complexity. Fine and elegant first taste, with perfectly integrated bubbles. Pleasant development with a silky froth against a vanilla, ripe fruit, toasted and truffle background. Very long and complex aftertaste where vanilla stands out on a toasted and butter background resulting from the long ageing process. Minimum ageing 48 months with a cork. Limited production with numbered bottles. Kripta comes with printed card showing the date of desgorgement on each label of our bottles. It shows the date when the bottle has finished its aging process. It is Agusti Torello Mata’s guarantee and commitment to quality.
FOOD PAIRING
Ideal with any type of food due to its structure and ageing: caviar, smoked food, fish, meat, foie-gras and cured cheese.

Agusti Torello Mata began creating wines in 1955 creating his first 500 bottles of cava in 1955 and eventually his masterpiece “Kripta”. An annual creation of over 500,00 bottles of cava they are the benchmark for cava and for a family run business. After the decades of hard work and expertise within the field they are present within 30+ countries world wide.
Based in Valls D’anoia-Foix Valls an historic area for Cava in Spain. The area allows for them to produce wines with great singularity and allows for the flavours of the area to shine through in the wines. They have meticulously selected plots to ensure the maximum expression, quality and personality of each variety to come through.
