100% Hondarribi Beltza
Txakoli Gorrondona tinto is a rarity, a red txakoli produced exclusively with a local red grape called Hondarribi Beltza. The grapes come from the oldest vineyards in Bakio, a small coastal village outside Bilbao. Some of these plots are over 100 years old. The wine goes through a malolactic fermentation with specially selected indigenous yeasts, following guidelines of environmental sustainability and to accentuate the character of the grape variety and soil. If you were to seek a similar wine elsewhere, perhaps a Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley would be the closest friend. It is a cold grape, which will benefit from serving it
Dark violet colour. Complex nose with floral and mineral notes. On the palate, medium body, good acidity with soft tannins. Good expression of fruit, with a herbal background. Long finish, very persistent.
