Our award winning cured duck breast is made by Embutidos Melsa in Graus from selected free-range moulard ducks.
The carefully selected duck breasts are kept hung for three months curing in their cellars. During this time, the duck breasts develop their special taste that distinguishes this cured duck from any other. The fat round the product leads to its balanced taste when sliced, a perfect combination of smooth and intense taste.
Winner of a 1 Star Great Taste Award 2016, judges commented that the meat has real character: the fat is creamy and sweet and that it is a very traditional product, cured and dried.
Our cured duck breast weighs around 250g which makes it comfortable to use at home. Slice it very thinly at room temperature and serve on any type of meat board or in a salad with thinly sliced fennel and orange segments.
Please note that each duck breast piece comes with its natural curing mould, to prepare simply use a sharp knife to trim the outside layer and remove any mould particles. Our cured duck breast has gone through a 100% natural process.
