Our baby squid or chipirones are a very popular ingredient in Southern Spanish cuisine. They are also called chopitos or puntillitas depending where you are. They tend to be very small, so the best way of serving them is to coat them in harina de freir, a special Spanish frying flour and quickly fry them until golden brown. Serve with fresh lemon and a very cold beer!
Our puntillitas are caught off the coast of Cadiz in the South of Spain. Whole and head on, they are individually quick frozen on the boats to ensure their freshness and packaged in 1Kg boxes. To defrost them, simply bring the chipirones out of the freezer and allow them to natural defrost for 1 hour, cook immediately once defrosted.
Format: 1Kg of baby Chipirones served frozen in a polysterene box.
